Picture This! Future Narratives Workshop

Brief:

As a group of practitioners, we were briefed to open up our studios to communities and creatively engage them in a student-led workshop.

Aim & Feedback:

As our audience group was 12-year-old students, we aimed to excite them about the future and the possibility of a career in arts. We hoped to challenge their imagination with various prompts and methods. The feedback we've gathered was extremely positive. Children were proud to share their stories and objects.

Process:

I took responsibility for the full documentation and video development of the event making sure that everyone felt comfortable. In regards to assets, the workbook was intended to be playful and reflective of the creative activities.

Solution:

We organized a future narratives workshop for our young audience group.

In the first part, we prompted them by using experimental methods, such as clay figures, paper papers, collages, and paintings to express how they see themselves and the world in 20 years.

Moving forward, we paired them into groups and made them write and tell a story using prompts they made.
